Story is King
Darryl Zanuck, the movie titan from 20th Century Fox, was once quoted as saying that a successful movie required three things: “story, story, story.” In filmmaking and in our general economy, the idea reigns supreme. A one of a kind script is the most critical element for a successful movie. Almost all studio released films are technically proficient, but very few have a great story that can generate broad audience appeal and develop a strong core audience.
Jeffrey Katzenberg, a founding partner of the Dreamworks Studio and former chairman of the Walt Disney Studios has stated, “if a movie begins with a great, original idea, chances are good it will be successful, even if it is executed only marginally well. However, if a film begins with a flawed idea, it will almost certainly fail, even if it is made with “A” talent and marketed to the hilt.”
The Whisper of the Blue script is the work product of years of development. It’s a story about Finnegan “Fin” McBride, an ex-Navy SEAL, who sets out to find the sunken ship of gold, the Yorke and comes face to face with Blackbeard Junior, the notorious modern-day pirate. The theme and creative elements are unique and irresistible — underwater action and adventure, moments of high drama, colorful characters, a high tech underwater submersible — all set against the exotic backdrop of South Florida and the Caribbean. The story’s originality and its thorough development provides a solid foundation for the project’s success.
Our script is tight and has a solid story structure. Each act is strong with turning points that propel us to the next act. The characters are memorable and well drawn. The story has momentum that will take the audience on an exhilarating journey into an underwater world that has rarely been seen on the big screen. It will keep the audience on the edge of its seats, and at times make people laugh and possibly scream. Its one of a kind action transcends cultural boundaries and will make it a star performer domestically and overseas.
The foregoing are lofty claims that are extremely difficult to achieve, but the proof is in our script. You will agree with us after a single read.
