Whisper’s Roadmap to Success
The conventional wisdom is that producing a successful action film requires a mega budget, high powered stars, and loads of special effects.
The Whisper production challenges these assumptions by embracing a new business model for the process of filmmaking. Vision. Creativity. Innovation. Originality. Comprehensive planning and development. Sound fiscal practices. Risk management. These concepts are the pillars supporting our production.
Our objective is to produce a commercially profitable film with blockbuster potential and the highest level of feature film production values. We have been engaged in a focused effort to develop Whisper and reduce the risk associated with the production.
Whisper of the Blue, has a heartwarming story, fresh action, and memorable characters that will appeal to everyone from 13 to 90. It has the ability to generate broad audience appeal, as well as establish a strong core audience, which is an absolute imperative for any successful movie.
In the United States, a marketing campaign surrounding the film’s release can be directed, in part, at the estimated 7 million certified scuba divers, 5.7 million active snorkelers (“active” being defined as having made one snorkel dive within the past 12 months), and 2,000 dive shops. This will help propel the domestic box office demand and assure a smashing debut.
Additionally, Whisper is a big summer movie with an upbeat feel, making it a natural for promotional, licensing, and spin-off opportunities. It will be easy to promote with many exciting visuals that can become great trailers and posters. For example, there is the terror of shark attacks, a futuristic submersible that flies underwater, and much more.
Our core strategy for Whisper is:
- Play to our strengths by focusing on our core competencies (what we do best, what brings the greatest value to the screen, and what competitors have difficulty duplicating) — underwater action and adventure.
- Recognize that the cost of a film is just as important as the box office rentals, in determining profitability.
- Mitigate the risk associated with the filming by dropping any element in any scene that might possess any uncontrollable risk to the safety of the crew or talent, or has a potential major negative financial impact on the production.
- Make an action film targeted to all members of the family, 13 and older, and to have a MPAA rating no more restrictive than PG-13.
- Display unequivocal excellence and constant attention to detail in all aspects of the production.
Make the movie during our development and preproduction phases. Meticulous preparation will assure a smooth running production and greatly increase the odds of success. - Cast a wide net to secure talented actors, not over-paid stars.
- Focus only on the development and production of one film — Whisper of the Blue.
